Sam Braysher, “whose warm tone and consonant and inquisitive approach to harmony is attracting growing attention on the British jazz scene”, (All About Jazz) is a London-based alto saxophonist, who has received widespread critical acclaim for his three albums to date, and for his international collaborations with Sara Dowling, Michael Kanan and Jorge Rossy.

He is joined by a rising star of London’s thriving jazz scene: Annie Majin, fresh from her West End musical theatre debut, whose charming, powerful voice is inspired by Barbara Streisand, Blossom Dearie and the sounds of classic Broadway shows.

Accompanying is an all-star rhythm section, comprising Hungarian pianist Matyas Gayer (Eddie Henderson, Jim Rotondi), award-winning bassist Andrew Robb (Julian Joseph) and ultra-swinging drummer Steve Brown (Barry Harris, Scott Hamilton).

Sam’s most recent album explores the work of Kurt Weill, a fascinating composer who lies at the intersection of European classical music, jazz, opera and American musical theatre. This will be followed next year by an album looking at songs by French film composer Michel Legrand. Expect to hear inventive interpretations of classics and hidden gems from the Weill and Legrand catalogues, in addition to music by adjacent composers including Rodgers & Hammerstein and Harold Arlen.

"I can’t think of another alto saxophonist with a sound quite like Sam Braysher’s” **** Dave Gelly, The Observer

“Braysher's cool, modernist twist on old songs is just superb” Simon Adams, Jazz Journal
