Described as ‘an open, imaginative and technically impeccable group that it would be folly not to follow’, ChamberMusicBox was founded in 2016 when a group of leading international musicians came together from across Europe to perform a series of chamber music concerts in London. Artistic Directors, violinist Yuri Kalnits & cellist Julia Morneweg, had a vision to explore and perform a vast spectrum of chamber music repertoire with like-minded and exceptionally talented friends, to promote mutual respect and empathy in the community through music-making of rare passion and generosity, and for audiences to be part of that shared experience.

They will perform Mozart’s E flat major Piano Quartet (K493), a lovely piece that complements its slightly earlier G minor companion that we heard a couple of years ago. They will conclude with the marvellous Piano Quartet by Dvořák, also in E flat major, a work of his maturity, full of invention and contrasts; he said to a friend: "It's going unexpectedly easily, and melodies are coming to me in droves.” Between these, we shall hear a String Trio by Polish composer Mieczyslaw Weinberg (with a lovely mix of folk influences) and Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly’s Intermezzo for String Trio (an early work, but with fingerprints of his later style).

Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Sasha Grynyuk studied at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and later at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. For many years, Sasha has benefitted from the artistic guidance of founder of the Keyboard Trust Noretta Conci-Leech. Sasha was described by legendary Charles Rosen as “an impressive artist with remarkable, unfailing musicality always moving with the most natural, electrifying, and satisfying interpretations”. Winner of numerous competitions, prizes and awards, Sasha was chosen as a ‘Rising Star’ for BBC Music Magazine & International Piano Magazine. His successes also include First Prizes in the Grieg International Piano Competition and the BNDES International Piano Competition, in addition to winning the Guildhall School of Music’s most prestigious award – the Gold Medal. Sasha has performed around the world in major venues and with great orchestras. 

Tanya Sweiry currently enjoys a varied freelance career, performing with orchestras and chamber groups including London Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Aurora, Britten Sinfonia, London Sinfonietta. She has been Guest Principal 2nd violin with the Halle, English National Ballet & RTE National Symphony Orchestras.Tanya held the Meaker Fellowship at Royal Academy of Music 2013/14, when she was given the honour of preparing and performing on the Viotti Ex-Bruce 1709 Stradivarius, as well as recording Bach and Enescu on it.. Tanya gained Distinction for the Master of Arts in Violin Performance at RAM, and awarded Diploma of the RAM & Moir Carnegie Prize for outstanding final recital. She studied with Remus Azoitei. As soloist, Tanya has performed with the Oltenia State Philharmonic, North London Symphony Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia, Trinity Camerata, The Blaze Ensemble, London Gay Symphony Orchestra & Lucerne Festival Academy Ensemble. 

Violist Stanislav Popov is in great demand as a chamber and orchestral musician in the UK and beyond, having performed in countries including Denmark, Germany, France, Italy and Canada. Following his graduation from N. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire in his home city of St. Petersburg, studying with Oleg Balabin, Stanislav gained early professional experience at the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra as Co- Principal Viola. Stanislav went on to hold the position of Solo Viola at Malmö Opera Theatre Orchestra in Sweden, where in 2008 he performed the Bartok Viola Concerto, conducted by Joseph Swensen. Whilst in this role, he founded Malmö Opera String Sextet, as well as introducing audiences to a broad spectrum of chamber music for viola and piano through regular recitals.In addition to his work as a soloist and a chamber musician he has been guest principal and co-principal with European orchestras including The Royal Opera House, The Royal Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and Oxford Philomusica. Stanislav has worked with conductors such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Placido Domingo, Evgeny Svetlanov, Mariss Janssons, Yuri Bashmet, James Conlon, Valery Gergiev, and Zubin Mehta. 

Based in London, Julia Morneweg enjoys a vibrant and multi-faceted career as a performer, educator and artistic curator that regularly sees her appear at prestigious venues and festivals both as a soloist and alongside many distinguished artists and ensembles. Recipient of an EMI Music Foundation Award, she made her London concerto debut in 2006 in the Elgar Concerto at St John's Smith Square, followed by a Haydn's C major Concerto with the International Mahler Orchestra at the same venue, and Elgar with Ternopol Philharmonic Orchestra in Ukraine. As a recitalist she has appeared around the UK, & Europe at prestigious venues. Julia has collaborated with many renowned artists. A passionate chamber musician, she was for eleven years cellist of Erato Piano Trio, which she founded in 2005. After winning 2006 Anglo-Czech Trust Competition, the Trio performed at major venues across UK & Europe. Other engagements have included tours to Croatia & Italy with Fibonacci Sequence, and recitals in Singapore & Montenegro. Since 2022 she has been cellist of Trio Lalique (with pianist, Ilya Kondratiev & violinist, Yuri Kalnits), described as ‘superb’ and ‘sensational’. As guest orchestral player, Julia regularly works with orchestras including London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London Contemporary Orchestra, and as guest principal cello with the English Symphony Orchestra, Northern Ballet Sinfonia & London Concert Orchestra. Alongside performing, Julia has earned a reputation as an exceptionally gifted and sought-after teacher.
