Blossom Street (directed by Hilary Campbell) presents Crossing the Atlantic, drawn from the wealth of English and American choral repertoire, from Barber & Whitacre to Holst & Vaughan Williams, much of it inspired by folk-song, with some lighter hits by Gershwin and more (e.g. The Beatles) thrown in for good measure!
Blossom Street is a versatile and vibrant professional chamber choir, comprising some of the UK’s best young singers, which performs regularly on TV & radio as well as on the concert platform. It has released critically-acclaimed CDs with Naxos. “Sheer professionalism and beauty of sound. Each singer’s voice was obviously of solo quality, yet the blend and ensemble were perfect, the balance across the whole range … just right.” - Milverton Concert Society.
Hilary Campbell is a freelance choral specialist, founder & Musical Director (MD) of chamber choir Blossom Street. MD of Bristol Choral Society, Chiswick Choir & the Music Makers of London, she has also been guest conductor of The BBC Singers, and chorus master of BBC Symphony Chorus and Royal Academy of Music Symphony Chorus. She also runs an annual project with Master of the Queen’s Music, Judith Weir, at the Royal Academy of Music, in conjunction with Blossom Street and the RAM composition department. She has been BMus Lecturer there since 2017.
